Shakespeare Country, the
Cotswolds & Blenheim Palace

Based at the 4 star Crowne Plaza Hotel, on this tour we visit some of the highlights of the Cotswolds whilst staying in the heart of Shakespeare’s home town.

Our first full day out starts with a visit to Moreton-in the Marsh, a thriving market town and one of the many chocolate box towns in the Cotswolds, located at the head of the beautiful Evenlode Valley. We then make our way to Chipping Norton for our lunchtime stop. After lunch we will travel on to our main stop of the day, the UNESCO World Heritage site of Blenheim Palace. Home of the Duke of Marlborough and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, it truly is one of the great buildings of the World with a superb art collection, Capability Brown landscaped grounds and the Marlborough Maze, the worlds largest symbolic hedge maze.

Your free day in Stratford upon Avon will include a relaxing 45 minute river cruise, embarking right outside our hotel. The cruise comes with an engaging guide who will bring Shakespeare’s Stratford to life.

Our next full day out starts with a visit to Chipping Campden, with it’s curved main street, it is one of the loveliest small towns in the Cotswolds. We then stop for a lunchtime break in Stow-on-the-Wold, perhaps the best-known Cotswold town. We complete our day with a visit to Sudeley Castle and Gardens. With royal connections entwined in its 1,000-year history, the Castle remains the only private castle in England with a queen buried within its grounds, Katherine Parr, Henry VIII’s 6th and final wife. Your visit will include entrance to The Castle Exhibitions, the Castle Rooms, ten award winning gardens and a cream tea.
